"Windows protected your PC"

Why SmartScreen warns about the setup, and how to run it.

Windows SmartScreen warns about programs it hasn't seen many times before, especially ones without a paid code-signing certificate. Wayline Studio's setup isn't signed yet, so you'll probably see this.

  1. Click More info.
  2. Check that the file is the one you downloaded from the Wayline Studio download page.
  3. Click Run anyway.

Check the file

The download page lists the setup's SHA-256 checksum. In PowerShell, run Get-FileHash .\Wayline-Studio-*-Setup.exe and compare the result with the one on the page. If they match, you have exactly the file that was published.

If your antivirus quarantines the file, it's usually for the same reason: it's new and unsigned. Only allow it if the checksum matches.
