Placing a roundabout

A plain ring, or a pre-made roundabout with its exits already on.

A plain ring

  1. Open Roads and go to the Roundabouts section.
  2. Choose the centre-line radius, one or two circulating lanes and the direction. Clockwise is the UK default. The raised centre island is optional.
  3. Click Place roundabout, move the circle to where it goes and click once.

The ring is built from road pieces no longer than 8 m, so it stays round. Ctrl+Z removes the whole ring and island in one go.

Pre-made roundabouts

Roads → Pre-made roundabouts builds a roundabout with its entries already on:

  • Pick a layout or type the exit angles.
  • Choose the approach road type.
  • Move the preview and click to place it. The mouse wheel changes the size; hold R and scroll to rotate.

The approaches are built as short stubs. Carry on from their free ends.

Tip

If you want every exit in an exact spot, place a plain ring and use the roundabout editor.
