Crossroads and bigger junctions
Turn a T junction into a crossroads by drawing the opposite road onto it.
From a T to a crossroads
- Make your T junction as usual.
- Draw the second road from the opposite side and finish anywhere on the junction, out to the ends of its arms.
- The junction is rebuilt with a fourth arm, and the existing roads are refitted to it.
Do the same again on a crossroads to get a five-way junction.
What's kept
- Chosen lanes (from the Lanes tool) are carried over to the new arm numbers, and the new arm gets every way in and out.
- Road markings tied to the old arm numbers are removed, because the arms are renumbered. Press A in the Markings tool to add automatic markings again.
Drawing straight across a road
Drawing a road right across another one can make a crossroads in one go. Shallow crossings are accepted down to about 21°.
Note
You can also place ready-made T junction and crossroads templates in your chosen road type from the Roads panel, then drag them into a road.
